    Emma Goto
    The importance of oracy and critical thinking in digitally literate primary schools

    Emma Goto is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education at the University of Winchester's Institute of Education. She spent over a decade working as a leading ICT teacher and Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) in primary schools in Hampshire before moving into higher education. Emma believes that education should make children think. We need children to develop the ability to engage critically with technology and digital media, to develop as responsible digital citizens.

    As a practising teacher, Emma predominantly taught in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. Emma teaches on the initial teacher education programmes at the university.     From EdTech to PedTech: changing the way we think about digital technology

    Dr Fiona Aubrey-Smith was named in 2024 as one of the Top 5 Visionary Women in Education. Fiona is an award winning teacher, leader and academic with a passion for supporting those who work with children and young people. She is the Founder of PedTech and Director of One Life Learning.

    Fiona works closely with schools and trusts, professional learning providers and EdTech companies. She is also an Associate Lecturer, PhD Supervisor and Consultant Researcher at a number of universities, and sits on the board of a number of multi academy and charitable trusts. Co-author of the best selling book From EdTech to PedTech: changing the way we think about digital technology, Fiona is a regular contributor to events and publications about Education, Pedagogy and Education Technology. Fiona is a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, and has been awarded Fellowships by RSA, NAACE and the HEA. In 2023, she was made a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Educators and in 2024 granted Freedom of the City of London.

    Rachael Coultart
    What does Digital Literacy look like in KS1?

    Rachel Coultart is the Lead Professional Development Leader for STEM Learning and has delivered NCCE courses and professional development to teachers. Rachel has worked as a Primary Teacher since 1991 and been a Computing Subject Lead since 2015. She is a Beta-reader and writer of content for Cambridge Assessment, as well as Computing Lead for the University of Hertfordshire Centre for STEM Education.

    Alongside her current roles, Rachel is a Visiting Lecturer for Brunel University delivering Computing to PGCE students, a CEOP Ambassador, Barefoot volunteer delivering EYFS workshops, and CAS Community Leader.

    Matt Warne, Head of Computing and Digital Learning at RGS The Grange, is a dynamic education professional dedicated to driving the integration of technology. Matt is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and his responsibilities encompass shaping digital strategy and fostering an atmosphere of innovation. Beyond his role at RGS The Grange, Matt serves as a Computing and Digital Innovation IAPS National Adviser, providing guidance and support to over 650 schools in the field of computing.
